The Illinois House Passed legislation on Friday, April 28, that would establish a task force to study pharmacy issues and set recommendations to improve consumer safety. The measure, sponsored by Reps. Mike Zalewski (D-Riverside) and Mary Flowers (D-Chicago), comes after a Chicago Tribune investigation that found more than one-half of 255 pharmacies tested in the Chicago area and nearby states did not warn customers about a potential drug interaction that could be harmful or even fatal.
